OANDA Practice data

Understand what Beamvera needs from your own Practice connection.

Into the guide

Practice and Live are different

OANDA Practice is a separate demo environment from OANDA Live. This setup guide covers Practice. A working Practice connection is not evidence of Live readiness or permission to trade real money.

Connect data you control

  1. Use your own OANDA Practice account and personal API token.
  2. In Beamvera, open the Practice-data setup from your readiness checklist or Settings.
  3. Enter the token only in the intended connection form. Review the discovered Practice account and the validation result.
  4. Wait for the current connection to be verified before using it for research.

Your API token is sensitive. Keep it private even when it belongs to a Practice account. Never share accounts, tokens or generated configurations.

Data readiness is not order permission

A verified data connection supports the data-dependent research path. Practice execution has additional requirements for the exact strategy, saved evidence, eligible connection and supported capability.

A completed checklist or tutorial alone does not unlock orders. Simulated results can differ from subsequent market outcomes.

If validation fails

A missing, rejected or no-longer-current connection stays unverified. Check the message shown by Beamvera and use the supported connection controls. Revoke an exposed token through the provider's supported controls; do not post the token or account identifier in feedback.

OANDA is a separate provider. Its service availability and account requirements apply independently; this guide does not imply a partnership or endorsement.

Official provider documentation

OANDA's documentation covers both environments. Check that any example or configuration you use points to Practice; some provider examples default to Live.
